I grew up in the midwest, attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for undergraduate studies and earned my DVM at Iowa State University in Ames. After graduation I immersed myself in private practice in Nebraska for 12 years and then returned to the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 as an adjunct instructor, receiving a Master's Degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences. I started a small house call veterinary practice during those years. Immediately after receiving my Master's Degree, I began a PhD program in Immunobiology. I was employed at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa. While doing classwork and research it became apparent that laboratory work was not a good fit for me. I enjoy the outdoors, animals and contact with people too much! So in 2005, I moved 2 horses, 10 cats and a dog to the Deer Park area and began a house call veterinary practice. I have enjoyed it immensely.
